Lachlan Copeland

Born and raised in Lennox Head, Lachlan has been a lover of music since joining the Ballina Youth Choir at the age of 5.

Lachlan’s running coach introduced him to musical theatre at 14.  It was here at Ballina Players he developed a passion for singing and performing starting with “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” and ending with lead roles such as Aladdin and Danny in Grease. This great experience gave him many connections with the community – both young and old.

Toward the end of high school, Lachlan’s first singing teacher Dean Doyle opened the world of jazz to him and ever since is constantly singing Buble, Sinatra, Davis Jr, Darin and many more.

He continued his love of music by choosing to study a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at Southern Cross University, where he developed his performance and production skills and know-how of all things media.

Lachlan has been spotted around the station since early 2016 helping with production and other technical aspects. He began on-air in July and can be heard on Tuesday afternoons (1-3) and Saturday mornings (6-9).

He loves being apart of our fantastic community in our little slice of paradise,  listens to music of every genre and era, and enjoys keeping the oldies hip and up to speed.
